I recently had the pleasure of reading 20,000 Days and Counting by Robert D. Smith, having been provided a copy of the book by BookSneeze, which solicits blogger reviews for select book titles.

The book is barely over 100 pages long, but within those pages is a collection of suggestions and simple steps that can have a profound impact on the quality of your life.

Divided into three sections, Robert D. Smith takes the reader on a brief journey from acknowledging the transient nature of our existence and then encouraging our commitment to make each day matter.  It is by no means ground-breaking in its originality of thought – but the first section is quite an inspiring reminder for each of us, who are members of any team, that we only have so many days left and it is up to us to make them memorable and productive.

The last two sections offer a handful of more specific and interesting ideas on how, exactly, you can choose to adopt daily habits that will transform any sleep-walking existence into a purposeful and impactful life.

Smith kept my attention throughout, and while I may not take action on every one of his suggestions, I found myself nodding at many of the quotes -and made notes on my to-do list to begin applying many of his prescribed activities.

I have now been alive over 15,473 days. 

This book will make each day of my future just a little bit more intentional and productive – and I encourage you to consider taking the time to both read and then implement the ideas he shares…

The book actually led me to create a list of books that I would encourage team leaders to share with people in their organization.
